After a fighting showdown against
China in October India will clash against Jordan in their friendly fixture
prior to the AFC Asia Cup 2019. Without their ace performer Sunil Chhetri who
is out because of an ankle injury which he sustain during the ISL game against
Kerala Blasters.
Jordan is a formidable side in
their home as they have drew against Oman, drew against Albania in home and a
spirited defeat by 1-2 Rijeka by current World Cup runners-up Croatia. After the
release of their former coach Jamal Abu-Abed the Belgian Vital Borkelmans,
assistant to Marc Wilmots for his national side in the 2014 World Cup and 2016
Euros in the three matches so far. The preparations is not so good and India
should fancy their chances against them.
India on the other hand without
their main man and talismanic figure Sunil Chhetri and it is quite a while
since they played international match without him. It’s a tough game but if
India could repeat the fighting play which they produced against China with the
tremendous form of their backline, the game could be turned in their favour.
India although little bit concern about the form of their second best striker
Jeje Lalpekhlua who is in pathetic form in the ISL for his team Chennaiyan FC.
Balwant will be the partner for Jeje and I think Mr. Constantine should select
this front two in the first XI.
Good luck to our 22-member squad for the upcoming @FIFAcom friendly against @JordanFA. #JORIND #IndianFootball #WeAreIndia #BackTheBlue #AsianDream pic.twitter.com/Fioutka6ZT— Indian Football Team (@IndianFootball) November 15, 2018
